Folk Music was everywhere!
My name is Dennis Whitt, and I'd like to share with you my experiences and memories of playing folk music at a time when folk music was everywhere! From huge folk music festivals, to protesting the Vietnam War, to television shows like hootnanny and "The Smothers Brothers", folk music was in the forefront of the minds of young people across America during the 1960s. My guitar playing and love for folk music manifested in me playing at coffee houses, college compasses and Church outreach programs. These venues provided a place where I could play for people who shared the same love for folk music that I did.
